Soldiers relief records, 1863-1867.

Included in this series are letters from the Auditor of State and the Adjutant General to the Perry County (Ohio) Auditor. These letters ask for clarification about the number of enumerated soldiers from Perry County (Ohio). There are also certificates entitling soldiers to draw monies from the soldiers relief fund as well as receipts from those withdrawals. An envelope with intact wax seals is also in the series.

When Mexican and Civil War soldiers mustered out of service, many regiments turned their flags over to the state of Ohio.
